David A. Dallmeyer, PT
David A. Dallmeyer, PT, has practiced locally for over 50 years. He graduated from Atlantic Union College in Clinton, MA, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. After starting his career at New England Memorial Hospital in Boston, Dave made Santa Barbara his permanent home. He worked at Santa Barbara Rehabilitation Institute before becoming Director of Physical Therapy at St. Francis Hospital. In 1980, he opened his private practice, specializing in chronic pain, rehabilitation, and both acute and sports- and dance-related injuries.
He has developed a unique treatment approach using Myofascial Release and Postural Integration, under the guidance of Evelyn Lerner, M.S., Rolfer..
Combining his passion for powerlifting—Dave won the National Championship in 1998, deadlifting and squatting over 600 pounds—with his physical therapy expertise, he opened Santa Barbara Gym and Fitness in 1980. This experience deepened his understanding of athletic rehabilitation, a skill he now applies to all his patients.
Mission Statement:
“Integrating time-tested hands-on methods with today’s advanced exercise rehabilitation and strengthening techniques, based on the latest biomechanical assessments, along with postural integration.“
